MECOSTA COUNTY – A man in Mecosta County shot and killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself on Sunday, Jan. 29, police said.
At 5:55 p.m., Mecosta County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene in Colfax Township.
Investigation revealed that Gabrial Harkins, 33, of Rodney, fatally shot his girlfriend, 48-year-old Kathleen Blackburn, police said. The two lived together.
Harkins then shot and killed himself.
Mecosta County deputies were assisted on-scene by Mecosta County EMS.
